I have sent out over 10,000,000 cards now and over 10,100 challenge coins. Going to be starting the 18th year in November, 2019. I will continue as long as I’m able, 74 years old now, thanking our Current Military, the Families, Law Enforcement, Fire/EMS and their Families. At some point I need to find someone to carry on with the mission.
The cards “For All those who Wear a Badge” along with matching Challenge coins are a national hit. I had a local “Tough Ol’ County Sheriff” was moved to tears that someone would take the time to thank him. Ahh the stories I hear about the cards and coins from all you handing them out or receiving them. I wish I had written them down since I started, it would make a good book.
I’m funded 100% by donations since Ross Perot Sr. donated the first million cards back in 2006. It is just me doing the daily duties of Dear American Hero.
The normal donation I receive for 200 cards is $25 to $50 and for 500/600 cards it is $50 to $100. I do not receive any compensation for my 12 years of doing this mission. I spend at least 4 hours daily and USPS costs me upwards of $8,000 yr.
